SHEEP SHEARING
The sheep are gentled sheared once or twice a year of for hygienic reasons.
Swedish sheep farms typically have small flocks where the animals are treated with great care and respect. Animal welfare standards are high, and practices are focused on the wellbeing of both sheep and the environment.
WASHING
Before washing, the wool needs to be cleaned of straw and any manure. The washing process is environmentally friendly and contains no harmful chemicals.
After washing, the wool is dried in a drying room using large fans. Finally, the clean wool is pressed into bales and transported to the carding facility.
NEEDLE PUNCH
The wool is carded and subsequently needle-punched into a large, voluminous sheet without the addition of synthetic materials. It is processed to be as thin as possible without compromising structural integrity, and is produced in extended rolls.
MANUFACTURE
Once FÅRTEX® is finished and rolled onto its spools, it’s ready for your garment production. Quilt it together with two layers of fabric of your choice.
